Mahasarakham University encourages students and staff to use public transportation by providing eco-friendly shuttle services, such as electric trams and buses. The university also promotes the introduction of electric scooters for students and staff to try or rent, and is negotiating with operators to bring electric motorcycles for student use. The scooters will be maintained within the university campus

Mahasarakham University has revamped its electric trains with bright colors, energy-saving, and free service, helping students reduce travel costs. Ride comfortably, no long waits. There are 3 trains departing every 10-15 minutes, running around MSU (Khamriang campus). Pick-up and drop-off points are near the academic buildings. Mahasarakham University has a policy to develop the university to become a green university (Green University) according to the world's green university rankings (UI Green Metric).
