Waste (WS)
Nowadays, the problem of waste is considered an important environmental problem that requires cooperation from all parts to solve the problem. If not handled properly, it may cause consequences. in terms of livability, cleanliness and may cause a nuisance in terms of foul odors, including being a habitat for disease-carrying animals Mahasarakham University places importance on environmental management, especially waste, organic waste, inorganic waste, recyclable waste and toxic waste that must be properly managed without causing any impact on the environment.

WS.1 Recycling program for university waste
Recycled waste is useful and valuable waste that can be processed and recycled. The university operates a project to encourage students, students and staff to participate in waste separation by applying the 3 R principles, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to benefit, can help reduce the amount of waste. and to create awareness of environmental conservation networking unity building and creative initiatives for personnel, students and students by implementing the recycling waste project as follows:
1. Green Dormitory Project
2. Creating artifacts from recycled waste
3. Sorting tank project to add value

WS.2 Program to reduce the use of paper and plastic on campus
Mahasarakham University implemented a policy to reduce the use of plastic bags and paper. Due to large quantities of general waste, particularly plastic bags which take longer time to decompose, the university has thus issued the guidelines in order to help reduce the use of plastic bags and paper on the campus area as follows

WS.3 Organic waste treatment
Organic waste refers to waste that can be decomposed mainly from consumer and consumption activities such as food waste, vegetable scraps, fruit peels, grass, leaves, plant residues, etc. by the university to make fertilizer and use it for use. and produce for sale to generate income for the university

WS.4 Inorganic waste treatment
Mahasarakham University operates waste management by landfill method by sending it to dispose of together with Maha Sarakham City Municipality.


WS.5 Toxic waste treatment
Hazardous waste or toxic waste refers to materials that are no longer used. deteriorated product or various containers that contain or are contaminated with hazardous materials/substances that are toxic, flammable, corrosive radioactive substance and pathogenic substances, etc. that cause harm to persons, animals, plants, property or the environment. Mahasarakham University divides toxic waste into 3 types according to its origin:
1. Toxic waste from the laboratory is various types of dangerous chemicals. and containers, etc.
2. Toxic waste from faculties/organizations is waste that is toxic, flammable, and radioactive such as batteries, fluorescent lamps, batteries, mobile phones. Spray cans containing paint, etc.
3. Toxic waste from hospitals (Sutthavet Hospital Faculty of Medicine Mahasarakham University) is Solid waste containing pathogens in quantity or concentration. which, if exposed to or close to the waste, can cause disease

WS.6 Sewage disposal
The university operates to remove water contaminants from daily routines in buildings and canteens. to meet the quality of wastewater standards and recycle water for reuse by bringing to water trucks, trees, millions of roads, etc.
