MSU organizes the 9th International Conference on Educational Reform (ICER 2023)
On June 16, 2023, the Faculty of Education, Mahasarakham University (MSU) hosted the 9th International Conference on Educational Reform (ICER 2023) “Education for Sustainable Development” from June 16 – 17, 2023 at the Faculty of Education, MSU. The event was a hybrid conference including onsite and online participation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prayook Srivilai, President of Mahasarakham University presided over the opening ceremony, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chowwalit Chukhampaeng, Dean of the Faculty of Education delivered a report on the objectives of this event.
There were 4 guest speakers invited to this event, including Professor Dr. Pam Grossman, Dean of the Graduate School, University of Pennsylvania, USA, Professor Dr. Vina Andriany, Director of SEAMEO CECCEP in Indonesia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prawit Erawan, Secretary-General and Professor Thomas B. Corcoran, a Senior Advisor SEAMEO STEM-ED, served as guest speakers for this conference.
The purpose of this event is to foster collaboration and expand academic networks, while promoting educational innovation, academic research, and learning development. It also aims to prepare data for formulating academic strategies at regional, national, and international levels. The participants of this event involved professors, researchers, and graduate students from partner universities and various organizations.
On June 26, 2023, there was a lecture on Core teaching: Professional Development, presented by Professor Dr. Pam Grossman, Dean of Graduate school: University of Pennsylvania, USA, and a lecture on Education for Sustainable Development, given by Professor Dr. Vina Andriany, SEAMEO CECCEP Director, Indonesia. Furthermore, there was a session for online group discussion, separated into 5 online rooms; Room 1 Educational Administration, Room 2 Teaching and Learning, Room 3 Psychology for sustainable changes, Room 4 Innovation & Technology and Room 5 Interdisciplinary, Multidisciplinary & Transdisciplinary Education.
On June 17, 2023, there was a lecture on Performance Appraisal: Reflection, Present and Direction, given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prawit Erawan, Office of the Teacher Civil Service and Education Personnel Commission (OTEPC), and a lecture on STEP Project, presented by Prof. Professor Thomas B. Corcoran , Senior Advisor SEAMEO STEM-ED. In addition, this conference was an opportunity to organize a Singing Ceremony on Strengthening Teacher Education Programs.
