On August 26, 2025, Mahasarakham University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prayook Srivilai, President of Mahasarakham University, along with Prof. Dr. Anongrit Kangrang, Vice President for Policy and Planning, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanayut Chaiyathongrat, Vice President for Finance and Supplies, as well as other executives and relevant personnel, visited the construction site of the MSU CANTEEN to inspect progress and assess readiness of food vendors. The new canteen is located between the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Informatics, and Faculty of Science at the Kham Riang campus.
The MSU CANTEEN is part of the university’s infrastructure development plan aimed at enhancing the quality of life and environment for both students and staff. The facility has been designed to be modern, spacious, clean, and safe, with attention to sanitation standards and efficient service capacity. It will include dedicated zones for dining, learning, and relaxation.
During the inspection, the university leadership team received updates on construction progress and evaluated alignment with the planned schedule. Key areas of review included building structure, utilities, space allocation, and vendor readiness. Emphasis was placed on ensuring strict compliance with the university’s standards for hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and environmental management.
The preparation of food vendors and shops at MSU CANTEEN focuses on providing a diverse range of food and beverages to meet the varying needs of students and staff. Consideration is being given to affordable pricing, high-quality ingredients, standardized taste, and consumer safety.
The university has also implemented an efficient space management system, including designated areas for vendor services, indoor and outdoor seating, relaxation spaces, and multipurpose zones that can be used for collaborative learning activities. These arrangements are designed to maximize the benefit for all users of the canteen.
